army market.

Yesterday, went to school to discuss pw. We ended up quite successful and productive with the new and improved version of the gpp and our first draft survey questions! I can only hope that my st would approve our gpp soon so that we can really get started.
Then, I met buloh at nj canteen to do the flag and camp booklet for bwm camp. We got it done quite fast, with a little sponsors from terra and the art room for paints and brushes. 😀
After that, headed off with Rachel, Norman and Benjamin to beach road for army shopping. Ok, ok, it is shopping for our camp things. We managed to survive the very very long busride there! I slept, only to be woken up by Benjamin waking up as he knocked his head on the back of the seat. Attempted to take lotsa photos but I failed.
The army market was fun!!! We had a huge variety of shops to buy from. Naturally, being kaisu Singaporeans we strolled round the whole place casually looking for the cheapest items. We ended up buying our things from different shops. And Benjamin and Norman, being even more kaisu Singaporeans… They haggled for better prices. We stopped a few times as Norman and Benjamin, mostly Norman really, stopped to look at the sneakers, t-shirts, shorts, bags and all sorts of things. Hmm… they seem to enjoy shopping more than Rachel and i. we said maybe we should plan a buloh outing to army market one day. Lol.
Finally after feeling happy and satisfied with our purchases and steals, we ate at the hawker centre below. Quite usual I guess. Got the drinks stall lady to help us take a group photo. She took forever and it was only after I got back my camera I realize she took about 5 shots! At slightly different angles. Maybe she is an aspiring photographer?
Walked to the busstop only to realize it did not have 961. So we walked two bustops to get the bus. Rachel said the area looked like we were in Malaysia! I agree. The shops all had malay names. Stopped to admire the concourse on the way and took a photo. We looked like we just scaled the steps of the concourse due to the trekking poles. We look like tourists. Except in nj uniform. Haha. We ran to catch the bus looking like we were about to kill some wild animal with our poles. Haha. It was a fun bus ride. And it was interesting being a tourist.

celebrated the may babies birthday yesterday!! hoho. we sang the birthday song 4 times!!! (one for gabriel, lusandra, teck ian and benjamin) one for each of them. *grins.
then had a nice cake from lanna cake i think. it was good!
during the free period during aep i printed my photos using the printer in ar21. i felt so guilty for using so much ink!!!
went up to attempt to do some prep work for uob but ended up just giving huijun comments about her prep ad watching her colour. i should really start trying out different mediums. 🙂 went back to mac lab for aep lessons and was told to do our prepwork. i should have just stayed in the gallery!! anyway… got down to serious shading and managed to complete my slide. yay! i have a lot more prepwork to do really. i m worried that i wont be able t finish uob by europ trip. but that wasnt the concern of SOME people. who was doing maths revision package DURING aep. what’s up with that, Sze?! why maths now?!
i realised something too… everyone is a bit crazy and hyper on fridays as it is the last day of the school week. esp yesterday due to the fact that it was our official last day before june hols! (that would be because of the very BIG SISC. ‘pronounced as ‘sick’ according to my tchr as it gives them so much more work to do.’) anyway, after finishing my slide i decided to start doodling. on ahu’s book. then sze and jianhao decided to have a personalised ring tone for ahu. ( he didn’t mind as he always put it on silent mode. which we realised we all do. what is the use of a phone?!) it went it ‘ahu…pick up the phone pick up the phone…’ very very irritating. and his message ringtone.. which i wont type here as i get goose pimples just thinking of it. eeek. (imagine jianhao in a attempt to have a ‘sexy voice’ *shudders) and so it was later changed to a ‘meow’ by sze. nice and short. ms lu suddenly said she didnt like cats. hmm. so the ringtones provided us with endless laughter every time someone smsed or called honghu later on in the day. hahaha
following which jianhao and ahu just kept talking in the hongkong accent. it was so so so irritating.
left the mac lab as ms lu had to close up the lab. we proceeded to the grandstand, forcing sze to go for training. watched them train and watched ahu do 3 pull-ups and jianhao attempt to do one. he did not make it. poor thing.
longhao kept calling me ‘newbalance shoo.’ oh wait. it is ‘shoe’.
then after everyone arrived we had og dinner. erm. not quite yet. had to wait for the delivery man. then. the disappearing acts of handphones and people just kept happening. half of us were at the parade square and half at grand stand. finally got our og together (and the phones too.) to eat at the announcement area. 🙂 it was good. i was so so so hungry. then had a ‘demonstration’ of how gas in the pepsi worked by ahu. got splatters of it all over my legs. hmmpf! then a group photo! 🙂 ailin and daphne joined us and they went for ice cream. the end of the second term in njc. it was fun. especially fridays.

stress relive.

Joined the mad race to squeeze in as much biology as possible in the morning and during math tutorial we got our expected ‘holiday package’ hmms. In other words, math revision for CT. continued to study bio with little success. Found a postcard of nygh 90th anniversary. I want to go. Haha. Then proceeded to the library with zhiying to study, but we ended up talking about everything but that. Bio was horrible as expected. I blank out completely at the question with the most marks. Hmmp.
lunch with ailin and the rest of old7s13.
Had chem tutorial. And I realized my chem tchr and my bio tchr are on very close terms! And tchrs talk.
Then my civics class spent gc at the student lounge. It was so so so fun!! We relaxed after mugging so hard for biology test. Quite a few of them (with huge wallets) played pool while some just lazed around. I played uno stacko with huihuan, shanshan, Abigail, zhi ying and lin fang. It was hilarious. But it was even more so when we played again with benny and Sheryl. Haha. It kept threatening to fall and we would always prepare the camera but it never does!! Benny finally tipped the balance. Haha. Decided that the blocks made good dominos. It was fun. oh. benny wore the lion head!!! hoho. it was so funny. i drew a probably inaccurate map of how to get to lanna cake for them to go get the cake.
Rushed up for aep only to realize that ms lu wasn’t there yet. We were supposed to do uob but we just sat at ar31 and complain about the heat (stupid aircon!!) and jianhao was taking photos of everyone. He needed a depressed person. Sorry. That’s not me!!! (Haha. My bio test is over!) and we moved to ar21 to do uob. Helped lin ping think of something to write about her GOH gift for sisc. Oh… yilin’s design for the poster of syf got chosen! Wow! (: jianhao couldn’t find his specs. chris kept annoying longhao about ‘mongolian.’ It was quite funny as he was finally irritated rather than irritating. Haha. Had a rushed sova lesson as everyone had to rush off. I seem so free now. (:

OAC ICAC

i went only for the session in the afternoon. it was fun nevertheless.
was the first one there… and then we had to search for the clue no 1 in the field. it was huge. finally found it and rushed to atrium to find out we were the third grp. had to head for toa payoh. the fourth grp caught up with us on the bus. hmmp. this was something that was going to recur over and over throughout the session. whenever we got on a bus (aka the bus came…) then we would see a group rushing to board it. sigh.
anyway, at toa payoh we had to climb 40 storeys worth of stairs at the hdb block 146. we made it! was very tired at the top. then, next was the clue to townsville primary school. fitness corner. we thought that ‘FC’ on the street directory meant fitness corner when it meant food centre. grr. so walked one big round. had to do a sort of obstacle course. it was simple. then had to head for the bottle tree park. it was nice because i had always wanted to go there and we met all the 2 other groups there. it was raining heavily. really heavily. sat there to wait for the rain to stop. took a lot of photos. and ate. it was like a break. then found the station masters and had to head for yishun park. it was the station where the whole oac was there (besides the station masters of other stations of course.) we were the last to get into the park to find the fruits so we stood around this amazing ‘loudspeaker’ shelter. it was interesting as we could hear everybody’s voice amplified if they were standing directly opposite you. all the whispers exchanged opposite you became a shout in the shelter. it was astounding. it was even louder when we were talking at the centre! took a group photo there. with victor and eric doing their spastic little ‘oac wave’ *shudders*
then our turn to go in to the park. strangely, we were qutie energised. must be all the resting and eating during the ‘rain break’. jogged our way around the park to take photos and jot down the fruits we passed. and we did it! we came in third. overtaking the other grp. turning point. cut through the field getting our feet all soaking wet to the interchange. the bus took forever to come, or so we felt. we kept praying that the other group wont once again catch up when the bus came. they din. so yay! third group in line!
headed for the hot springs at sembawang. met the other two groups there again. we had to soak our feet in the bucket of hot spring water. it was steaming hot. we eased our feet in. HOT!. it was like boiling our feet. but you know what? buloh rocks. we managed to keep our feet there. the touching of feet helps. and after a while it was no kick. well. people come all the way for the water you know. after that task we quickly finished the other three tasks and was on our way to dinner! 🙂 yay. end of afternoon session. we ate and then the rest of them had to head for douby ghuat for bikes. i went home. 🙂
it was a good bonding session. B-U-L-O-H!

*sweat, sweat, sweat. That was basically how I spent my whole day. Sweating it out. The weather is seriously sick. Must be global warming. So stop breathing (as suggested by nally… not feasible) oh and I saw the choir people wearing jackets which just made me sweat even more!
Maths tutorial was first period today. A very sleepy lihui was sitting beside me. She looked like she could barely open her eyes! Next was a free period, in other words, time to study for maths lecture test. Which I didn’t because I was so sick of maths already. So I just talked a bit with jin lai, zhiying, sze, shenchen (proclaiming her mc today so she did not need to take maths test…grr) and ailin!
Then maths test. Had to ‘dragged’ Lauren up to lecture theatre because she din want to go for it. well, I suppose since it isn’t going to be counted anyway… might as well try it right? It was quite ok. But as always, I ran out of time (when am I ever going to have enough time for maths?!!)
Next. Free period. Lunch time. Or as ailin likes to put it…food and nutrition. Ate lunch with shufen and linping. Then managed to complete some maths (again!!) assignment. I’m proud of myself.
Was slightly late for PW but surprisingly… I was still the earliest! Waited outside the class and had a short chat with tammy and weining. (from my pae bio class… their class has sadly been spilt up into many parts like old7s13 too…) Was more productive then usual during pw. We managed to come up with some email interviews. 😀 not bad. Then listened to some group present their gpp. The first group had a LOT of questions fired at them. I hope our grp survives the presentation in one piece. Following next was gabriel’s grp… I was trying really hard to understand the concept of microcredit but it sounded like greek to me and the minute I got lost, my mind just wandered off. Sorry!
Spent lunch discussing a bit more pw. Free period after that was used to read my bio pract. And ended the day with bio SPA> skill B. erps. Say…doesn’t the experiment look very familiar? Oh right. It looks exactly like the trial SPA except this is potato and not radish. And so I survived a day of packed activities. Cheers
